People think that just because zombies like to feast on brains and viscera that they can just eat or drink anything they like and not get sick. It's that kind of narrow, blinkered thinking that makes zombies so mad they could just eat your brains.
OK, there are plenty of things that make zombies so mad they could eat your brains, but this makes them want to eat them with more gusto than usual.
Zombies can get sick. Zombies can even get fat if they spend too long at the all-you-can-eat brain buffet.
Zombies have a special problem with beer, especially with ales, double especially with cask conditioned ales that still contain live yeast. As brewers and bakers have long known, yeast is the "breath of life" that makes bread and beer possible. The dead digestive systems of a zombie cannot handle something so alive (they also dislike sushi).
Unfortunately for poor old John Q. Zombie, they still crave the taste of ale and the friendly ambience of the local pub where "everybody knows your name and is trying to remove your head with a baseball bat".
The end result of a brains and beers binge? As illustrated in this organic 28 Ales Later T-shirt, available from CafePress, a night of shouting down the great white telephone. Poor guy.
