Picked up after my recent Allagash brewery tour (thanks guys!).
Pours coal-black with a fluffy tan head that sticks around. Strong bittersweet smell quite reminiscent of Guinness beer, but there the similarity ends. Quite a fizzy mouthfeel, medium bodied. Strong chocolate malty taste, followed by a sharply bitter coffee tang and alcohol taste at the swallow and a lingering bitter chocolate finish. Nice warming alcohol follows.
Not my favorite stout from the trip to Maine, but it's a decent drop.
