I took the Allagash brewery tour during our trip to Maine last summer. This was sitting on a shelf because it had a damaged label -- so I cheekily asked whether I could liberate it for review. Since then it's been sitting in my cellar, aging nicely, so here goes!
Stout with cocoa nibs sounds like just about my favorite combination, and it turns out that the recipe is a successful one. It's a deep dark brown, and has almost a brown ale taste; loads of plums and fruit, followed by the sting of bitter chocolate.
Massive finish, supremely bitter, with the chocolate taking off the strain.
Fluxus 2010 is a really big beer and thoroughly recommended.
