Apres Beach Bar review
Submitted by Jane Turner
After
living in the tropics for a while
now, I have gotten blasé about restaurants. Menus and
beer offerings are
pretty much the same everywhere, just the venue and décor
changes.
However, I am seriously impressed by the offerings of the Apres Beach Bar & Grill (two locations, one in Cairns and one 20 minutes north of Cairns at Palm Cove.)
Just one look on their website will have you hooked. For instance, it is one of the few places I've come across outside major city centres that actually offers 125 true blue international beers. (I have at last found my Mecca). It is worth a trip just for that reason.
But also have a
look at their extensive and varied menu. Where else can you
get crocodile, emu and
kangaroo as normal
bush tucker,
alongside a wide variety of fresh local seafood and your more
typical fare
of steaks and salads, all intricately seasoned in both local and
foreign
flavours?
There is something for everyone at Apres Beach, but the beer menu is the major pull for beer lovers everywhere.
If you are in the Cairns area, it is definitely worth at least one visit, if you can handle the hangovers afterwards.
