New Delegates alert!

Beers of the World: Steven Montejano, Nevada Beer Delegate.Your Secretary General loves a gamble. But a year and a half after launching the UNOB project, nobody had come forward to represent Nevada. Fortunately, that has all changed and our Nevada beer guide can finally be launched. Steven Montejano did opt to review an imported beer, but as it was Newcastle Brown ale, we'll forgive him! Great to have you with us, Steven. We're looking forward to enjoying your work in the desert state.

Beers of the World: Chris Olkowski, Arizona Beer Delegate.A great way to end the year... We've added another territory and we're raising Arizona (sorry). Yes, Chris Olkowski has been brave enough to volunteer for our Arizona beer guide. Thanks and welcome, Chris. Incidentally, while we're counting, that makes 25 states of the USA with beer guide pages. 2007 has been good to us!

Andrew Miller, Beer Delegate for New Brunswick, Canada.A pacifist with a hankering to bring oodles of cash to the UNOB coffers? Andrew Miller is definitely OUR kind of guy, which is why we're delighted to appoint him head of our New Brunswick Beer Guide. This brings the total number of Canadian provinces represented by UNOB Delegates to NINE. Awesome to have you, Andrew.

Fancy becomng a UNOB Beer Delegate for your state, province or country and help by promoting beers of the world? Apply now!

What is a Beer Delegate?

Beers of the World: becoming a Beer Delegate for your territory is a great way to enjoy drinking.Your role will be to further the causes of beer and beer drinkers in and from your country, state or province.

We need you to expand the beer knowledge of people from inside and outside your home territory.

That means researching (or promoting your current favourite) obscure beer festivals, breweries, beers, bars and beers, then writing about it so we can educate the UNOB membership. Apply now!

Notes on creating content for your channel

If you've never had to create beer content before, it takes some getting used to.

Beer may be a huge part of your life, but writing (or speaking) about it doesn't come naturally at first. Trust me, I know!

  • Read our Beer Content Guide for great advice on easy beer content creation

  • Be creative. Coming up with new beer content can be as easy as carrying a digital camera when you go out on the town

  • Found a beer, bar or gorgeous serving person you want to share with everybody? Take a pic, do a write-up and send them in

You don't have to be word-perfect. We'll knock your submissions into shape for you. A typical piece is anything from 150-500 words.

You don't need to treat this as a full-time job. Two submissions per month is a good target for Delegates and one per month for Deputies.

Basically, we're offering you your own dedicated BEER CHANNEL on our website, which is yours to fill with content, be it video, audio or written word. Apply now!

Next, you'll receive official UNOB goodies after completing a set number of assignments.

  • Three articles or reviews = Beer Delegate laminated ID card

  • Ten articles or reviews = UNOB T-shirt

COMING SOON: exciting announcement affecting all Beer Delegates!

How to apply

Part One: you MUST subscribe to our eZine, Drink Up. It's the fastest way for us to keep in touch with all our Delegates and Deputy Delegates. Don't worry, we publish Drink Up quite sporadically, maybe once a month or so.

Part Two: review your favourite beer or review your favourite pub or bar. The form on each page is self-explanatory.

IMPORTANT: end your submission with the words BEER DELEGATE APPLICATION FOR xxxx (xxxx = your country, state or province).

At the very worst, your review will be on the site for all to enjoy. We'll contact all successful Beer Delegate applicants and arrange for you to send us photos and a biography and so on before building your page!
