A great Beer and BBQ spot out on Long Island, you need to check out Bobbi-Que located in Patchogue, NY. This area of Long Island is known for its beer with the Bluepoint Brewery around the corner and the Brickhouse Brewpub right across the street.
Even with this competition being in their back yard, Bobbi-Que has two things that set them apart from their competition. BBQ and Blues. When you put all three together it is a great combination for a night out on the town.
Walking in the door you feel the blues vibes and smell the slow smoked BBQ but as you glance to your right you find what you're looking for... the beer list. With a selection of over 200+ beers from around the world you will find something to your liking.
If you’re looking for a seasonal you can check out the lipstick on the mirror behind the bar and their selection of even the Non-Alcoholic brews shows they put a little love into their beer list.
I chose to try the 21st Amendments Back in Black IPA and the Brooklyn Breweries Buzz Bomb Brewmaster’s Reserve.
While the IPA surprised me as it followed in its mission to "rebel against the British Style IPA" using the select dark malt to really create a well-balanced beer with a great finish.
My favorite was Buzz Bomb, which went great with the flavors of the hot wings and BBQ pulled pork. The Brooklyn brewery created another fine beer as they reflected on Medieval European brewing by adding a little extra honey creating their own version of a Braggot (ale / mead mix).
The mouth watering BBQ, their blues entertainment lineup (including acts from around the country), the beer selection and attentive friendly service all made for great experience.
Both the restaurant and bar managers made me feel at home as they shared their stories and knowledge with me, and I know they are waiting to do the same for you!
