I don't really know what to think about this place. There are "serving tanks" behind the bar that are clearly fakes, though someone went to a lot of trouble to make them appear real. Can't imagine what they were thinking.

For some reason I didn't ask to see the brewhouse, as I was put off enough by the fake tanks and the poor quality of the beer and food to just want to leave.

All the beers tasted/appeared identical in every way, as if they had just added subtle flavors/coloring to make them taste/appear slightly different.

There was an award in the window from the LV Review Journal newspaper as the "Best of 2009."

Best of what I can't even imagine. Certainly not the best beer. Maybe best hot dogs? Chicken salad and six samplers for $20. Won't ever go back there and I wouldn’t recommend driving to Boulder City. Stay in town. There are much better beers closer to the strip.

Steve is blind

May I suggest that the author, next time he wants to state that an establishment has fake brewing tanks, that he either open his eyes and/or put on his glasses to find out if what he is going to write is true and valid. The tanks are real and the beer is brewed in them, right behind the bar. Better yet, why not ask the staff or the manager on duty! So now you must ask yourself the validity of his review since he obviously made an error and clearly does not know his brewing tanks. It is clear that for whatever reason for the lousy review, the author already had issues to make a statement like that and quibble over the price of a chicken salad and a six shooter sampler, which he would pay more for at other establishments.
For an establishment to receive 2007 Las Vegas Life Magazine for “Top 10 places to have a drink in the whole of the Vegas area” and 2009 Las Vegas Review Journal best Microbrewery and be in Boulder City away from Las Vegas. Now that is an accomplishment. I would suggest that he stick to Doppelgangers in Carson City or The Brew Brothers in Reno, both had lousy beer. It was the same with Flagstaff Brewing, Beaver Street Brewing in Flagstaff and Oak Creek Brewing in Sedona AZ. I am surprised the author missed his opportunity to write about Great Basin Brewery in Sparks or The Brewery at Lake Tahoe (California side), both are excellent. Too bad he wasted his time at Doppelgangers.

Why don't you have another look?

I think if you check Steve's review, he said chicken salad AND samplers cost him $20. Does that add up for you?

Steve has travelled the world in search of good beer for two decades. He has written many dozens of reviews of beer for the UNOB. Check out the Utah, Oregon, Nevada, Quebec and California pages especially to see his work.

I think this elevates him slightly above the average Bud drinker. I assure you, he knows good (and overpriced, lousy) beer when he encounters it.

Idiots In The World
by: IPA Man

It is obvious that the author would not know a good beer if it sat in front of them. I am sure this person would be pleased with a domestic beer that is comparable to water on the strip since the author does sound like a lightweight and knows nothing about microbrews. I say that in the kindest way since this person has a poor sense observation claiming that the tanks behind the bar, where the beer is made and poured from, I guess they are fakes.
This person has to be right since they are bragging about beer from the strip. Good luck in that while you play your penny slots trying to get a waitress to bring you a freebie. $20 for a sampler? Funny last time I was there it was $10 and well worth it. If you need a lesson in math or have problems reading, let me know. For $30 I will advise you the difference between $20 and $10.
I would like to challenge anyone who does read this person review of this establishment, to judge the beer for themselves. I am sure you would come to the same conclusion as I did when I read this and checked it out for myself, the author or this page, is an idiot.
