I fully expected not to enjoy this beer. Kamouraska's beers have a very strong, yeasty taste not unlike the Unibroue Maudite beer. This works fine in some cases, but most of Breughel's beers are powerful, high ABV brews with an overwhelming combination of yeast and alcohol that drowns out most of the other flavours.
La Kamour is a white beer, which is not my #1 style of choice. However, this lower-strength beer does not suffer from the powerful alcohol presence and the result is a beer which is fruity, packed with taste and much better-balanced than the others I've tried from this brewer.
Pours cloudy, medium-dark amber, almost blood orange. Small head that quits before long. Delicious scent of citrus and wheat.
Typical white beer profile. Doesn't need orange, as it's loaded with its own citrus taste. I found myself glad that the beer came in a 660ml bottle, as it was a perfect summer's evening and I would have been left wanting with a 12ozer.
Just right for a white beer. La Kamour was very enjoyable and I would certainly drink it again.
