Brutopia
is a microbrewery that makes
delicious
ales such as Nut Brown, Honey, Honey Brown, Raspberry Blonde, India
Pale, and my fave, Extra Blonde.
The beer is made on the premises, and while they keep their staples all year long, they do add seasonal beers to the menu, which should keep you going back.
The beauty, other than the genuinely good beer, is that the staff will let you taste a brew before you pay (a reasonable) $5.50 a pint. It’s a fun place, damn it. And I will likely be there. With my lovely friends who are charming and friendly, and who like to dance and do shots. What’s not to love?

Brutopia Montreal has a great atmosphere. They have live music on the main floor, and a DJ spinning good vibes in the basement. Fans of the joint come in all ages and backgrounds and are really just out for a good time.
And you’re allowed to move the tables and chairs to fit whatever size group you have, big or small. There is nothing stuffy about this place and that’s part of the fun.
High-five the staff when you go because one, they are pretty cool, and two; they have to put up with a lot of crap from drunkards. Check out my personal darling: Felicity. She’s the one in good spirits behind the bar on the main floor. Be nice to her though, because despite the ever-present smile, she can kick ass verbally and physically.
Also, watch for the white guy with the
‘fro — he’s creeping up on my good fella
radar.
So there we were, Kim, Jen, and I, as well as about 300 other people roaming the three floors of the bar last Saturday.
We showed up around 10.30pm to find the place hopping. Scoring a table recently vacated, we sat down.
We proceeded to order our pints, drank them, and then roamed the bar. We met people with accents that night: two Polish, one German, and one British and quite a few people who were speaking Slur (which I am fluent in).
We danced, oh how we danced, and laughed with friends new and old. It was fabulous and no one ended up pregnant. What more could a gal ask for? Brutopia, Montreal comes highly recommended.
