Ces't What? Toronto review
Submitted by Andrew Harris

Andrew Harris, one of our Ontario Beer Delegates.I took a road trip to Toronto to taste some of the fine regional hand-crafted brews available at the ¿Ces't What? Toronto bar. When I arrived, I was pleased to find five cask ales on tap, plus a few dozen other beers on tap, plus a good bottled beer list.

I tried a pint of Amsterdam Brewing's Two Fisted Stout (5% abv) available on tap with nitro. It poured a deep dark brown and had a fantastic thick head that lasted almost the whole way through.

It tasted of chocolate with a nice dryness to it and a great bitter flavour coming through on the finish. After about halfway through the pint, it seemed the dry flavour started to become a bit smoother and almost reminded me of a slight chalkiness.

Next up I had a pint of ¿C'est What?'s homebrewed Chocolate Porter (5.4% abv) available on tap with nitro. This beer poured out nice and had very creamy stable head at the beginning, with nice tan swirls resting in it.

C'est What? in Toronto, ON.It was a very dark brown, almost black, and overloaded with nice burnt toffee, chocolate and dark roasted coffee flavours. Halfway through the pint I noticed there to be a sourness to the finish, along with the bitter roasted flavour in the ale. Overall this is a very deep and robust brew, delicious!

After those two I decided to try their cask ale selection and tried a pint of ¿C'est What?'s homebrewed Al’s Cask Ale (5% abv). This ale was a beauty. It was a beautiful golden colour with an excellent hop flavour coming through, with a floral-citrus taste to it. I could drink this all day long.

It was served at an excellent cask temperature, with a nice light bitter finish to it. A delicious cask ale that I recommend to anyone.

¿C'est What? Toronto is a great beer destination and I urge you to visit the next time you're passing through.
