Claim Jumper is a happy hour with the girls type of place. Boys, take note

My favorite place to go for Happy Hour or a drink with the girls is the bar at the Claim Jumper Restaurant in Lone Tree, Colorado.

This Claim Jumper is part of a national chain of restaurants, but you wouldn't know it when you get there.

The bar room takes up about a third of the building and is separate from the restaurant area. The bar itself is huge, a wall-to-wall old west saloon style counter with plenty of room to sit, There are several bartenders with literally thousands of alcoholic drinks to choose from.

There are lots of smaller tables, arranged for somewhat private sitting, a big stone fire place and an old fashioned popcorn machine that serves up free popcorn. The place is decorated with lots of trinkets and very atmospheric.

The prices are alright and the bar food portions huge. Dishes like Irish Nachos (French Fries with Cheese, Scallions and Bacon) are big enough for the whole table to share. Happy Hour is five days a week, from 5-7 with Twofer specials on beers and specialty drinks.

Claim Jumper Restaurant is great place to kill a few hours and wash away the day's grievances.
