In the heart of Farmingdale, NY, away from the hustle and bustle of route 110, lies a neighborhood favorite on the corner of Main and S. Front - Croxley’s Ale House and Eatery.

Whether you’re just looking for a good place to grab a brew, or a place to catch the game, Croxley’s provides the perfect setting.

The restaurant is intertwined with a sports bar theme which provides a great atmosphere for beer enthusiasts and sports fanatics alike. With TVs literally in every direction you won’t miss a second of the game. The staff is attentive and knowledgeable such as bartender Jessica Geremina who makes regulars and first timers alike feel right at home. And on a warm evening, you can hangout outside under the awning and enjoy a brew while watching the passersby.

Their menu consists of the typical bar/restaurant spread with the exception of one menu item that I recommend everyone tries... their bucket of Hoegaarden Mussels. Not only is it plenty of mussels for 2, but they come with a discounted Hoegaarden!

One surprise though, and not of the good kind, was that their “Croxley Ales World Famous Buffalo Wings” only come in 4 flavors: mild, medium, hot and bbq. With a little more hot added to the “hot” wings they could be pretty good, but evidently my order came out and the heat stayed in the kitchen.


Croxley’s carries 68 “ales and lagers on drought” and a selection of 45 different bottled brews which can please just about any beer enthusiast’s palette. Just take a seat and grab a beer menu. If you’re not too familiar with this type of reading it may take a minute or two to soak in, but the menu is well put together with drafts listed by style and the bottles listed by country.

They offer a good selection of seasonals and microbrews, one of which I had the opportunity to try – the C. A. Pumpkin Ale.

Croxley’s also offers an opportunity to join their Handcrafted Beer Club. Every different draft you try will be recorded on your Club Card. Once you have tried 40 different pints of handcrafted beer you get a Croxley Ales Beer Club T-shirt! So far I’ve only racked up a few on my card, but the journey to finish the other 32 will be a happy one! I think I’ll kick it off with an Angry Ale to the tune of the Arcadia, Hop Mouth, Double IPA!
