Derniere Volonte: a creeper that grows on you with every sip

Derniere Volonte is one of the outstanding beers brewed by Dieu du Ciel in Montreal.
Having tasted a good many of Quebec's beers, I dare to court controversy by stating that, with a few exceptions, the beer here is average to very good rather than world class.
Dieu du Ciel brews some incredible beers. They are complex, unusual and original. Not all of them "work" for me personally, but you have to admire a microbrewery that takes chances.
Derniere Volonte ("last will") is an Abbaye-blonde weighing in at 6.5% ABV. It pours a cloudyish golden amber and smells strongly of yeast, not quite Unibroue Maudite style but along the same lines.
Derniere Volonte has a ton of body and quite a lively, fizzy mouth feel. It tastes sharply of bitter hops and yeast, with underlying fruity notes of bitter peel. The more you drink, the easier it gets and I regret I had just one bottle in the cellar. A "creeper".
