El Presidente Beer

El Presidente beer. Praise him!

Do you know if El Presidente beer from the Dominican Republic is sold and/or distributed in Phoenix, AZ?

Can anybody reading this help Chris? Do you know if it's sold in AZ?

If you're visiting Anguilla, as I did last week, you can guarantee that asking for a beer will give you a short list of fairly dull options, but Presidente Lager will most likely be one of those options.

If you're in the Caribbean, it's pretty much the fallback beer, along with Carib, Red Stripe and one or two others.

Expect to pay around $5-7 in a hotel or $2-4 if you buy a case in a supermarket. Ed.

Pam, I live in Az. My family is from the Dom. Rep. We love this beer! There is not a distributor in AZ yet (you hear that Presidente USA? no bueno!). Trust me, i looked. Im trying to open an spanish carribean cafe with my intention to bring Presidente in. Closest distributor to AZ is Cali and i'm still on the hunt as to where in Cali that I can buy them out of it. haha.

"El" Presidente doesn't exisit. Presidente is sold at Corridor Beer and Wine in Laurel, MD but you're looking at 14-15 dollars for a 12 pack, not the 8-10 it costs for the same amount in Miami.

Presidente light is sold in Pigeon Forge by the bottle at Kroger on Wears Valley Rd (traffic light #3), Food City in Pigeon Forge (just past traffic light #7) and at Food City in Sevierville. I'm fairly sure that Kroger and FC in Sevierville sell it in a six pack too.

Forget about Corona and other famous beer, Presidente imported beer from D.R is the best. There is nothing better in the world that eating grill meat with a Presidente, hhhhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. I'm heading to Puerto Plata next month.

I spent about 4 months in Santo Domingo a few years back and fell in love with Presidente then.

I carried a case back with me on the plane every time I flew back and forth and hoarded it for as long as it lasted.

There is nothing like it - especially served ice cold with a warm tropical breeze....

Great stuff - glad to see that there are finally some places where we can buy it here.

i have searched texas for years without any luck.
the only presidente beers i have had in texas are the ones i bring back from the DR or friends bringing me some from FL or NY.
sure is a shame no presidente in texas......

I just moved to Florida and tried this beer. Now I just sit on the beach and love drinking it. I have tried every beer under the sun, and this is one of the best Pilsners I have ever had. Very clean and fresh tasting with or without food. Mr. Microbrew, get a life. I also love fresh Guinness, but for a lighter beer, this is awesome.

I'm still trying to find Presidente in the Phoenix area. Fortunately I have a girlfriend born in the RD now living in Miami. I go there frequently and only drink Presidente. Wish I could get it in Phoenix. My girl says Reynolds Tobacco now owns the brewery in RD (Domincan Republic).

Ok, we have been going on and on about this fantastic beer for over a year and no one can tell me who to call or write to regarding Midwest distribution. I thought a web site like this would elicit many responses on who to contact. Greatly discouraged by a complete lack of information, I have but one last resort. I have booked another two-week trip to Punta Cana in September. I will think of you all when I get off that bus and order my first ice cold Presidente.

I'm pretty much a wuss when it comes to beer. i only like bud light or miller light normally. However, i just got back from Punta Cana and absolutely fell in love with the presidente beer. Sooooo light but soooo tasty. i completely loved it. trying to find some here in the midwest and may die trying. But believe me, every vacation from here on out will be a search for this beer!!!!

I got hooked on Presidente several years ago in the British Virgin Islands. It is best when ice cold but it holds up well in the tropical heat.

Looked for it here in Georgia and finally resorted to having my son start smuggling it up from Tampa. I just got a report that it is available at the Kroger in Sandy Springs. Not sure who the distributor is but hope I can talk the store manager here in Macon to look for it.

Awesome beer

Found it by accident on vacation to St. John's Virgin Island. The local market ran out of Corono (how does that happen?) so we got El Presidente. Tasted like Corona, but had a stronger "beer" taste. Also good with lime. Trying to find it in New Jersey without spending an arm and leg from specialty liquor stores.

I too fell in love with "el-presidente" at a punta cana resort. I was recently in pigeon forge tenn. when I found some at a grocery store, I noticed it was distributed by miller so I thought I could pick up some back in cleveland ohio... I can't find any so far, it must be a distribution problem because this beer will take america by storm. I too am a micro-brew snob, and a hop head at that, but this beer kills! as of this writing I am finishing off my third and final bottle from the one lonely six-pack that traveled back with me from tennesee, if only I had known it's not here yet I would have loaded up the van and driven the eight hours back to get my wife and kids later.....truly refreshing

Regarding Micro Brewer Comments:

Drank Presidente when I visited the Dominican Republic some year back; Your comment sums it up. This stuff is awful! Taste like cardboard at best. Micros are the way to go. Eventually people will wake up and smell the good beer. Until then, the crappy beer lovers can keep bowing to the porcelain god!

I live in Columbus, OH and i lived in Orlando, FL for 4 months. I tasted Presidente while i lived there and I fell in love with it. When I came back to Columbus I couldn't find it anywhere. However I went to Andy's carryout in Columbus and the orderer said he hadn't heard of it and that he would greatly see if they could get it in. But I hope in the near future it will be distributed in Ohio.

I just got back to Honolulu from Mardi Gras in New Orleans and a friend of mine had 4 cases of El Presidente. Wow, it is the smoothest best tasting beer I have ever had. They had to drive to Florida to get it! I remember reading the label (half drunk on Fat Tuesday) and it was distributed in Virginia, but I cannot remember who that was! Help us out here in the pacific as we need access to a really great beer!

Wow! Amazing to see that there are some other Presidente fanatics. In fact I'm drinking one right now as I write this. Miller (of Milwaukee) is the US importer of this. I found Presidente easily in NYC however, cannot find it in the southern CA area nor AZ. It's obviously very easy to find in areas that contain a respectable degree of the Domincan population(i.e. Miami and NY) though I did read that it is being distributed in several states that may surprise you.

A distributer in Chicago has told me that while this great beer used to be available in the Chicago area, it is now only sold in the state of Florida. I tried to buy some on line, but they won't sell over state lines. I guess we all need to plan another trip to Punta Cana!

Ok, I, too would like to find this awesome brew in the Chicago area for Christmas gifts. An employee at Binny's in Plainfield said the only distributor he knew of was in Niles, IL, but I can not locate one there. Can anyone help?

I live near Dayton, Ohio and my father and I LOVE Presidente beer. I want to find it for him for Christmas. Is there any company that I can get it shipped to me? Any help would be great!

El Presidente in Wisconsin

I too have been trying to locate El Presidente in Wisconsin. I have been told by many places that it is not available in Wisconsin. I have found it in Chicago.

My Vote is for El Presidente BEER :)

I am a Connoisseur of beer and I will have to say that El Presidente is one of if not my #1 Favorite Beer. I haven't had one in a long time, however I understand that El Presidente is being sold in Franklin, Tennessee at the Kroger Stores.! I am from Murfreesboro, TN (one of the fastest growing towns and counties in the nation)
Please, get El Presidente here!!!!!! It has been so long since I enjoyed the fine flavor. I was in the Dominican Republic JacTar Village the last one I had. That was way too long ago! My vote is for El Presidente in Murfreesboro, TN.

This is Excellente

This is a fine brewed Pilsner beer, It has a good amount of gas which I prefer. Very clean with high alcohol content. Though not true with most beers this one is best served a 33 degrees. Perfect for those hot climates.
