This is an excellent quality ale. I don't know what makes it select, maybe the ABV of 8%, but this is a fantastic ale to drink.
It has a very malty and yeasty aroma with slight citrus scents and a metallic earthiness, like a canned beer. There are mild hop scents but not overwhelming, just enough to be noticed. Continues below
It has a light filmy head which dissipates very quickly and sheets the glass. The flavor is a light hoppiness with some malty qualities and a good spiciness as well.
There is a refreshingly mild bitterness and an earthy aftertaste which lingers on the tongue and sides of the mouth for a few seconds. This light coating of the palate is not flat but bold.
The smooth texture of this beer with is mouth coating flavor makes it an exceptional drinking beer. It is rich, robust and complex with a ton of flavors.
