Famous Sam's

Famous Sam's. The all-in-one destination for everybody from raging drunkards to the entire family... yeah, right

I gotta tell you about my favorite place to go hang out and have a beer or two. It's called Famous Sam's. I go there mostly on the weekends and it can get rowdy!

They have about 20 plus beers on tap, ranging from domestic to imported. I recommend the Amber Boch. It's got a nice full bodied flavor that really hits the spot. You can get either a large or a small pitcher to accommodate the size of your party.

If beer isn't your thing, the talented bartenders that are on duty can make you anything from a Tequilla Sunrise and Strawberry Margarita to an Alien Secretion or a Mudslide. And if you want something really strong, try their Hurricanes. Delicious and absolutely the one drink you can't have if you're driving!

For your birthday they offer 25 cent shooters, like B52s or Cherry Bombs. Although sometimes it's a bit tricky to drink it with your hands behind your back!

If you get hungry, Famous Sam's has a fantastic variety of food to choose from. My suggestion would be the Tuna Melt on sourdough if you like tuna. You can try one of their chicken sandwiches, or even a BLT, served on your choice of bread.

Famous Sam's is also a family oriented place: they have a menu for the kids if you bring them along. (I can just see grandpa bouncing junior on his lap while the birthday crowd does 25c shots... Ed.) With a small selection of non-alcohlic drinks too.

If you're a sports enthusiast, you definitely need to visit. With at least 20 televisions throughout the place, three of them big screens, you won't miss any of the good plays. There are some pool tables in the back in case you aren't interested in watching any of the games that might be on.

And you can't forget about the Texas Hold'em tournaments they hold on Tuesdays and Saturdays. Free to join for anybody that wants to try their hand at cards. Or if you're not really into pool or cards or even sports, they offer a trivia game that's played nationally. You can test your knowledge against players from all over the country and earn points.

If you're a Latin fan, Famous Sam's has live music every Wednesday through Sunday so you can get your groove on and dance the night away. If you really want to get brave and possibly embarrass yourself, some locations even have karaoke nights. Lots of fun listening to others and maybe yourself attempt to sing popular songs.

Where's the chapel? Where's the dental surgery? Ed.

They also have a special functions room in case you can convince your boss to have the next meeting there. Happy Hour is from 3 to 7 pm every day with some great drink specials. Famous Sam's has a friendly staff that can help you pick out a delicious drink or even a great food item to try.
