Part of a "half metre of beer" Lefebvre gift pack I picked up in the local SAQ.
Pours rich dark brown with a decent fluffy head. Very rich-smelling, cakey, prunes, dark fruit. Quite gassy. First taste is quite bitter, not the stout chocolate bitterness, more a sharper, malty taste without the sweetness of many malty brews. At the swallow a sting of hop bitterness comes through and there's a strong alcohol warmth.
Similar to some Unibroue beers, only with less yeast presence. An unsubtle but satisfying beer.
