The Glacier Brewhouse, Anchorage, Alaska

On occasion my work requires me to go to some great places. Recently, I just got back from Anchorage, AK which has to be the home of the best microbrewery known to man: the Glacier Brewhouse.
These are truly handcrafted beers brewed on a weekly cycle and you never know which beers will be featured. It's all a matter of whichever ones the brewmasters decide are the best for that week. However they have four menu standards: Amber Ale, India Pale Ale, Brewhouse Blonde and the Oatmeal Stout.
I won't go in depth on the seasonally rotated beers, however it is worth noting that the Imperial Blonde and the Hefeweizen are far superior to most imports I have tried and since they are so popular, you can usually find them featured on tap.
Just go in as close to Monday as possible during the tourist season or you may miss out. Once the tap is dry it wont be wet again until the next week.
And don't be surprised if you have to wait 20 mins just to find a seat at the bar. The word is out on this brewhouse and popular doesn't begin to describe it. And might I suggest the herb crusted halibut to go with that Imperial Blonde?? Yeah, the food is ALMOST as good as the beer.
Worried about missing out?? Grab a growler to go! That's right! The Glacier Brewhouse offers 64oz growlers filled with their exquisite beers for about $15. This is especially handy if you're about to head out into the wilderness and a case of Busch or Natty just wont do. (Hell, I don't think the bears or moose would even touch those!)
