The ubiquitous Got Milk? campaign has been running for 15 years now, although it seems longer. In that time, replacing the word "Milk" with a different word, such as "Beer", "Jam" or "Fleas" has been a surefire shortcut to funnytown, where everything is funny as hell. (Except for the clowns, of course. They're never funny.)
The trick of using one's belt buckle as an emergency beer bottle opener has probably been around for as long as the crown bottle cap, which was patented in 1892.
The belt buckle has been around for at least 1500 years, but I'm not sure what else it was used for apart from keeping pants up.
It has taken until now for these two great strands of American innovation to come together into one artifact: the Got Beer? bottle opener belt buckle.
I can't imagine anything manlier than a "Got Beer?" belt buckle that can open a beer bottle, unless somebody, somewhere has made a beer stein with John Wayne's face on it.
