Grand Cru beer is from a Quebec microbrewery called Brasserie Breughel.
For whatever reason, virtually every one of their beers has something in common: a horribly strong alcohol taste that ruins any subtle flavours each one claims to have. Grand Cru, at 11% ABV, is no exception to this rule, as you might imagine...
They make a big fuss about using natural ingredients, but what good is a chemical-free brew that nobody will enjoy drinking?
Shame, because it smells wonderful and begins in good style. Then you feel as if Mike Tyson has just smacked you in the tongue. And not too many people will have had that experience.
