Guinness 250th Anniversary Stout is a crisper, less smooth version of its traditional namesake.
This stoutish style recipe weighs in with an ABV of 5% and has the same roasted barley and malt aromas of a traditional stout. Its dark appearance is a deep brown almost black in color and clear when poured. It is more carbonated than a traditional stout which gives it a crispness as previously mentioned but does not take away from the light, foamy, cream colored head which laces the glass as the beer is consumed.

A much lighter version of traditional Guinness beer, it still has a balanced roasted malt and barley flavor and taste. Chocolate, toffee and other dark sweet flavors come through with the warming of the beer.

Like the traditional, the texture coats the palate with a slightly bitter film, but the added carbonation is refreshing and tickles the throat.

Guinness 250 is a very good beer, it meets most of the requirements of a stout only crisp, not smooth and creamy. Very drinkable and refreshing, and I would definitely drink it again.
