Just one of the many items in our Guinness Store
Mug technology has advanced in leaps and bounds since Sir Hubert Mugg first patented "An ingenious device for holding and dispensing individual portions of tea" in 1879.
Mugg founded the British and East Indian Mugg Manufactory Corporation to market his new invention, but a series of bad business decisions, including an attempt to sell "Wine Muggs" to the French, left his empire in shambles.
His patents were bought out by his fierce rival, Lois Cuppe. Hubert Mugg died with little more to his name than fifty thousand acres of land, a forty-room mansion and a dozen concubines.
Mugs are now available in a bewildering variety of shapes and sizes, suitable for coffee, tea, cocoa and even cold beverages. They can also be printed with text and designs that can amuse or enrage your friends, family and co-workers.
This mug is cleverly shaped like a Guinness Keg, giving an extra little edge to your constant joking about drinking at work. We are beginning to wonder if you are maybe making your coffee a little "Irish".
