Fall (Autumn where I come from!) is my favourite season of the year, but I find myself preferring winter seasonal beers. I've had a few of this year's fall seasonals and, while one or two have appealed, most don't compare to the great Quebec winter beers.

Pours mahogany red with a small, enduring head. Fairly neutral smell, caramel bitter-sweet. Continues below
Very fizzy. Is immediately mid-bitter, with a lovely roasted nutty flavour. On the swallow, bitterness increases. Very little of the sweetness the nose promised, until the long lingering bitter-sweet aftertaste. One which improves as you slowly sip your pint.
