Last birthday, I invited some friends over for beer and boardgames. I chose German beers for no apparent reason and Holsten Festbock was one of them. (What can I say? The SAQ has a very limited selection of imported brews.)

It starts extremely sweet, with strong burned caramel tones. Just when you expect some balance from hoppy bitterness, it remains solidly syrupy. Not my cup of tea really. It needs more balance.
