The very concept of a Japanese stout seems so bizarre that I laughed out loud when I saw this bottle. That, and the hilarious label, with a cute cartoon of a Japanese businessman and the somewhat clunky phrase, "Iwate Kura beer is original brew".
Almost no head over a very dark cola-colored body. Smells sweetly bitter. Tastes strongly of coffee, with lovely dark chocolate malt flavors. Strongly bitter finish. Very tasty.
