Krogh's Brew Pub
Their Stout is comparable to Guinness and that is a good place to start any comparison. It had a smooth taste, rich color, and the creamy head was brownish, darker than the Guinness head. Other beers include Three Sisters Golden Wheat, Log Cabin Nut Brown, and Brogden Meadow Pale Ale.
For lunch I had the Cajan Roast Beef wrap which was very good. My wife had the huge vegetarian Nacho Supreme and took half of it home. They also have Nachos El Grande which includes beef and been chilli.
The Mets were playing an afternoon game and the bartender turned the game on for me. It would have been a perfect afternoon if only the Mets had won.
The bartender (I think her name was Amanda) had a full bar and gave out beads to her customers. She also gave out the Corona bottle blinking lite necklace. The bar was full but Amanda said she expected to be packed by the evening. I had to go to work so I couldn’t stick around for that.
Krogh’s is across the street from Lake Mohawk in Sparta on White Deer Plaza. Frede Krogh purchased the Malmquist Restaurant in 1937 and open Krogh’s Restaurant and Tap Room. In 1991 Bob Fuchs purchased Krogh’s and in 1999 turned it into Krogh’s Restaurant and Brew Pub. It was the state’s first state of the art micro brewery.
Krogh’s has entertainment on weekends and entertainment during happy Tuesday-Friday. There is no on site parking and when they get busy finding a spot on the street is tough. They do have valet parking when they get busy.
