I dug the Kwak mainly because it comes in its own little quarter-yard with a wooden holder, and like the Foam Dome before it, I'm a fan of anything that lets you gesticulate wildly and drink at the same time. I guess I'm just Italian like that.

Anyway, the Kwak itself had hints of liquorice and carmelized bananas, which is an amazingly great combination. With an 8% ABV, as you got to the bottom you started to understand why they gave you the holder.

I understood that straight away - without it, the glass falls over :-)

And the French for beer is 'bière' - 'bier' is German/Dutch.

Anyway I like Kwak too - even if it is hard to buy here in england; I have it delivered!!!

Im currently in the Netherlands and visit Belgium on the weekends. Kwak is is one of my favorite things to drink. I like to drink some of the Trappist beers as well. If you get a chance and a ride to the bar. Try the Casteel beer, but dont plan on drinking too much after that.

It is great

I just got back from Belgium and have been looking on the internet to find a place in Michigan that sell this fine beer (Bier French for beer). The high alcohol content 8.7% can't even be tasted. It tastes like Michelob which is my favorite United States beer.
