Thanks to Dave Oplinger for this beer!

The only other encounter I have had with gluten-free beer is the awful, awful La Messengere from Quebec, so I approached this with some trepidation.

Contrary to the many poor reviews it has received, I found it light, almost reminiscent of an English apple cider/Japanese sake. It does have an aftertaste I'm not crazy about (so does sake), but the overall impression is not bad.

Let's not fool ourselves. Given the choice, there are many finer beers than this. But if you're suffering from gluten intolerance, then this isn't a bad choice. See more Gluten-free beer and lager reviews.

Actually, not Bad NEW
by: FlamingSquirrel

I find this beer to be enjoyable considering that I can drink gluten products anymore. It is a reasonable approximation of a lager. It is not bitter like the bottled micro-brews can be. The flavor is smooth without an objectionable aftertaste. I seek this beer out and recommend it for celiac sufferers that need gluten free beer. It normally mix it with my GF homebrew to add a more robust flavor.

This is near beer to be sure. HOWEVER...ice cold and with spicy food (read nice for summer) it is very refreshing and pleasant. Not a designer beer by any stretch but worth the cash and a happy discovery for a beer aficionado coping with newly discovered celiac.
