Le Bilboquet La Corriveau Oatmeal stout: dark
La Corriveau Oatmeal stout
Le Bilboquet, QC
Found this one at a new shop in the neighbourhood that specialises in beer and sausage.
Black, thin for a stout, very typical nose of licorice, coffee and some chocolate. VERY bitter, pleasantly fading a minute after the swallow, rich burned coffee taste with a tang of sweetness which melts into the aforementioned bitter kick.
More a porter, which is common for the microbrewery stouts in the Montreal and surrounding areas, but none the worse for that.
