I picked up a bottle of Left Hand Brewing Imperial stout from last year's Flaveurs Bieres et Caprices, a beer and food pairing event in downtown Montreal.
Quite possibly this was the best beer I tasted at the event. Truly a superb stout, its dark, complex character will entice and delight you to the very last drop.
At a huge 10.4% ABV, this stout is not at all dominated by alcohol tastes. It's like the dessert all adults would crave if you were only allowed to drink after dinner.
Coffee, berries, licorice, dark chocolate... everything you want from a stout, without complications or compromise. And a sixer would get you totally hammered. But this is a sipping stout. You absolutely MUST try Left Hand Brewing Imperial stout if you ever get the chance. Colorado's great secret.
