Locate Desperados beer

Hello UNOB!

Please, please help me locate Desperados beer in the USA!

Seriously, it's harder to find than Waldo!

I live in Chicago, IL and cannot find anywhere that has it. I really want to give it as a Christmas present.

Shipping's the downfall NEW

You can buy Desperados at TheDrinkShop.com and have it shipped to the U.S. but it IS quite costly. One bottle costs 1.29 british pounds and shipping to the U.S. costs about 30 pounds sooo I guess if it's a sacrifice I can make at some point, I will. I miss my Desperados!

Just back from a Paris trip and must say I loved this Beer.....had some at a cafe in the Louvre. Unique taste for sure but very refreshing, I'd love to find some here for this summer.

Just took a Caribbean cruise and found Desperados in a little grocery store in Marigot, St. Martin. I may never like another beer! The taste was remarkable! It would be worth a trip to France! I'm broken-hearted that it doesn't seem to be available in the U.S.!

Heineken in the US

Hi guys!

Desperados is actually a french beer, now owned by Heineken and already distributed in most european countries.

They are always on the move to new markets, so widespread availability (beyond selected partners who import it on their own) in the US will certainly come, especially as this year Heineken makes a big effort to promote the brand!

Forget the beer.

I missed the taste of this beer since I was on vacation in Europe in 2009. In the meantime I had to substitute it with a drink (recipe in comments below, yes with tequila). The drink is so tasty, everyone has to try it.
This year went again to Europe and the first thing I got was Desperado and I cannot express my disappointment. The taste was flat and the drink is sweeter and stronger thanks to tequila.

I will no longer feel the urge for the desperado as this drink tastes way better. Try it.

I was in Spain this past summer. One of my spaniards friends introduced me to desperados at the end of my summer. From that day I didn't drink anything else but desperados. I been looking everywhere....and i mean everywhere. I live in California....If you guys know where I can get this amazing beer please let me know. You guys will make my holidays so much better. :)

I had my first "Despe" in France in 2002 and it was pretty much the only beer that I loved. I've been searching for it since I returned to the US (Chicago) in 2003. Now that I live in LA, I'm still trying to find it but there's nothing remotely close.

hey, first I want to say that desperados isn't with Tequila.... it's only flavoured aroma!!!.

The next step you can order it online in different beer shops online... use google!

If you live in the UK you can surely find Desperado beer being served in St. Ives at the Tap Room. It was recommended by the bartender and I really was impressed. They have great food and beer there as well. Good luck!

I had desperados in Paris and could not believe how wonderful it was. A few days later, on our anniversary, I had to have it again. I had the biggest smile on my face whenever I took a gulp. I was so surprised to see how many others love it the way I do.

Yes, me too, this is great beer. I have had it in Rota, Spain and in Landstuhl, Germany. My husband who travels brings it back occassionally, but even the grocery stores in that area do not sell for retail sale.

It comes from a brewery in France ( I typically don't say that too loud)

Where can you get it in USA???

I too had Desperados in Barcelona and LOVED IT! I was with a friend who doesn't like beer ordinarily, and she loved it as well. Doesn't look like we can get it in the U.S. I'm going to try the recipe from the e-mail above though. Thanks!!

I'd love to get it in the USA, but I make my own

I already gave out the recipe but I modified it since then.

Take a tall glass, pour 2oz of gold tequila, fill the glass half with Heineken beer and fill to top with Sierra Mist soda. (not sprite or 7up) it has to be sierra mist because it's sweeter.

It's really a great alternative. I always make it for my friends and they love it.

Try it.

Ja! I live in Germany all my life until I go to America to study in American University. Wo is mein Desperados. I have heard from a friend of mine that they sell it at the LCBO in Toronto.. If you are ever willing to make a trip. I know I would! I love desperados!

I'm desperate for desperados, too! I had it in Paris with some new French friends, and then in Barcelona. There also is a beer called Salitos that is, to me, almost the same! I found that in Barcelona and Madrid as well...but my search for either of the two was of no avail in Chicago!!! :(

Great taste of sweet, hard to find, nectar.

I had my first taste of the sweet beautiful beer when I was in Germany, back in 2006. All I can say is after that night, I almost can't stand the taste of a lot of american beers like Bud. If anyone finds this wonderful golden refreshing beer in the states, please don't keep us in the dark. Please share the wealth. I can still taste the sweet nectar of Desperados.

I tried Desperados in Sorrento, Italy and in Barcelona- doesn't tastle like beer but I love it- should have packed some in my suitcase.
If you know any pilots- civilian or military, you can ask them to bring you back some. I got some coming soon.

Take One Heineken beer into a tall glass add 3/4oz of Tequila and 2 oz of Sprite.

Tastes great similar to the Desperados.

Wish I could help. You know Anheuser Busch just stopped making Tequiza which was the same thing. Pissed me off and I let them have an earful over it. This Desperados stuff sounds pretty good. Maybe Inbev makes it and maybe they'll bring it here like Leffe and others that are now coming over.
