On your way to see the Pistons play at the Palace of Auburn Hills and need a place to meet up with friends, grab something to eat, or more importantly tip back a cold one before the game? You should fly in to The Martin's Nest in Auburn Hills, located at the corner of Walton Boulevard and Opdyke Road.
When you get there it won't look like much. Just a little gray building on the corner. But inside you will find a great little bar with much to offer. The staff is top notch and Bobbi the owner is the greatest. The Martin's Nest has a full selection of beer and liquor with domestic beers such as Budweiser, Bud Light and Miller Lite on tap. Happy hour special daily 4-7, all beer is only $2, as well as well liquor.
If you are a gamer, they have two dart boards with your usual bucket if darts to choose from. For the golfers who can't get enough, they have Golden Tee of course. But the main attraction is the shuffleboard table that is worn in just right and holds many games a day by many different people.
The Martin's Nest at Auburn is a great place to eat as well. They have daily specials, from Meatloaf to Philly Cheese Steak. The last Wednesday of every month is Rib Day and let me tell you, they are the best ribs in Oakland County. You have to reserve your table in advance to even get a taste.
Other than the place being a little small, I would suggest a trip to the Martin's Nest in Auburn Hills any day of the week. It is a great place with great people. If you are in the area maybe I will see you there. Say hi and I’ll buy you a beer. Till next time!
