I'm not quite sure what to make of Champ Ale. On the one hand, it's fresh, green-tasting, hoppy and refreshing. On the other, there's a slightly sour taste lurking beneath the surface of the aftertaste that I don't care for at all.

Pours cloudy orange-amber with a decent head. Smells like sweet malt and wheat, mixed peel. Fairly fizzy.

Neutral taste at first, very flat. As you swallow, there's a strong twang of hops and that sourness, like grapefruit peel, jumps in. Moderately bitter finish. Like a British bitter, though most of those don't have the sourness. Strange.
