McSorley's Bar is one of the oldest Irish pubs in NYC
![]() |
McSorley's Pub is a NYC legend. It's located on 8th Street in the East Village and sits on the same block as Burp Castle and Brewskis, which are two other beer havens on the Lower East Side of Manhattan.
McSorley's is an Irish pub which serves two beers on draught. There is a pale ale and a dark beer. They are both tasty beers, but neither will really curl the toes of a serious beer lover. This bar is a place to go when you want to quaff a few beers among friends.
It is always crowded, but the staff are pretty friendly. They seem well-adapted to handling a large influx of patrons. A visit to McSorley's Pub is essential for any beer lover making a trip to the Lower East Side.
It has become an institution in New York City. While I can't honestly rave about the quality of the McSorley house beers, I would state that they do have bottled beers and a full liquor bar. This is a fun place to go to have a few and let your hair down.
