Mephistopheles stout is coal black
and completely opaque, with a deep
brown foamy head that diminishes rapidly to just a coating on the
surface.
There is no way to tell if there is CO2 in suspension.
The aroma is of roasted barley and hints of coffee, chocolate and raspberry with lots of alcohol.
WOW! Very full mouthfeel with lots of coffee
and
warming alcohol. The bitterness imparted by the roasted and black malts
is balanced by the residual sugar.
The 107 units of hops are completely irrelevent.
Almost too much alcohol (isopropyl) in the flavor and aroma interferes with true enjoyment. Will let this one sit for a few minutes and see what happens.
The alcohol is still almost strongly evident, almost burning. Way over the top.
Not worth selling your soul for.
