I had planned on visiting both Odell and New Belgium today. It is the Monday before the 2009 GABF and unfortunately New Belgium is closed on Monday. One wonders why they couldn't have opened this day, as the number of beer fans around would have made it worthwhile... But enough about New Belgium.

Odell has changed considerably since my last visit in the late 90s. Instead of being in a small shed the brewery now has a 50 bbl brewhouse, numerous 50 & 100 bbl fermenters, a bottling line, storage space and a barrel aging room. There is also a very nice retail space and tasting room.

I arrived just in time for a tour and though short and conducted by a relative newbie was informative and interesting. There is also a large expansion project happening with additional fermentation and storage. They are also adding a whirlpool to the brewhouse which will enhance their process.

There were approximately 20 beers on tap including most of the regulars and some specialty and barrel aged beers. See seperate reviews for this.
