This is a beer birthplace, where magic takes place while the master brewer lives as though "brewing is an art and partaking is a passion."
Ten minutes down County Highway 33, just south of Cooperstown, NY, lies a little secret. Hidden away in an old hops farm is "America’s most unique microbrewery." This 136-acre plot of land has been molded into a true Belgian experience.
From the architecture, to the beer itself, the heart of Belgian culture is captured, its essence bottled and its perfection tasted in each of their five top-fermented, bottle-conditioned brews.
This is a place where the Belgium style beers are cellared like wines and aged to perfection. Randy Thiel is the brewmaster of the unforgettable experience known as Brewery Ommegang.
