Otter Creek White Sail: good alternative to the more common summer brews
![]() |
So I just finished Otter Creek White Sail (nice name), after my first successful rugby practice in over a year! Anyhoo - here are my thoughts.
A pretty bottle label showing the namesake white sails underlining the beer's summertime appeal.
The beer has a pleasant taste, certainly reminding me of Belgian beers such as Leffe or Hoegarden; part wheat and part of that special spicy aromatic Belgian taste.
I found the aftertaste somewhat on the thin side - it's a beer that tastes very good in your mouth but leaves you with a feeling that you lost something once you swallow.
This is a pleasant summer brew for those who want something different from light lagers such as Corona or Heineken. I would rate it as a 3 out of 5 (maybe the Burlington Beer fest made me somewhat picky?).
One interesting idea for Otter Creek Brewing is to add some sugars and let this baby undergo a second or even third fermentation!
