During the recent Vermont Brewers
Festival, many of the brewers were offering organic beers.
Organic food has a strong following in Vermont and it seemed that this trend had crossed over into the beer festival.
Among the dozen or so organic beers we tried, Peak Organic had three different varieties.
You can see Ashley's review of their Nut Brown ale here (if indeed that is actually what he tasted!).
I tried the Pale ale and really enjoyed it.
There was sweetness present, but it was well balanced by bitterness and hop flavour.
Whether it was my imagination or wishful thinking, I did find that the organic beers I tried at the VBF were clearer and purer in taste and more appealing.
When you can justify drinking a beer as good for you, well, that somehow makes it all seem worthwhile!
Drinking organic helps to support organic farming practises, too. Can't argue with that.
Peak Organic Pale is a pretty decent pale ale and a very decent idea.
