Raspberry Weasel wheat: would have been better if they added weasels rather than raspberries
Another of the Woodstock Inn and Brewery's ales, Raspberry Weasel wheat ale is a seasonal summer brew. I must admit, when I looked at the list of seasonals on their menu, I would rather have tried any of the others, as I find most fruit-flavoured beer in North America is cloying and disappointing.
Sure enough, this one was not to my liking at all. In common with almost every other fruit beer I've tried that wasn't brewed in Belgium, the impression you are left with is of a pale lager that's had a shot of syrup added before being served to you.
It's fizzy, it tastes sort of fruit-ish; like raspberries would taste if a robot were trying to clone them from scratch based on second-hand flavour descriptions. It doesn't do anything at all for me.
Sorry Woodstock, this is the beer I liked the least this weekend.
