The aroma of this beer is overloaded with a bittersweet chocolate scent which doesn’t leave.

Milder roasted malt and coffee aromas apparent as the beer warms but nothing gets in the way of the chocolate. The Dark ebony and ruby color is so deep that you can see no cloudiness if there is any. There is a thick foamy brown head which stays rather thick as the beer is consumed and laces the glass. Continues below
The bittersweet chocolate taste gives way to mild coffee and roasted malt flavors. It’s like drinking a chocolate cake and wanting a second slice. The bittersweet aftertaste lingers on the palate for a while and makes you feel like you just ate some frosting.

That sensation of a smooth frosting texture coats the palate with a strong bittersweet film. Light and refreshing with very little carbonation.

This is an excellent beer which meets all of the requirements of a quality stout. This is by far my favorite stout, and I used to swear by Young's Double Chocolate Stout.
