What's a brewery without a stout. Birds gotta fly, fish gotta swim and breweries gotta brew stout. It's almost a badge of honor.
Well, Rubicon Brewing has its badge and should wear it with honor, because its stout is a ray of hope in the brew lineup. While it is by no means the best stout I have ever imbibed, it is one of the smoothest.
With Kentish hops and a nitrogenated pour, this beer does exactly what it what meant to; just taste good. I think the Great American Beer Festival judges said it all when they awarded it a bronze medal.
This beer is neither flashy nor dull, life altering nor the same old same old. It is just plain tasty.
If you find yourself at the Rubicon, get this and the fish and chips; they work wonderfully together.
