Valeria Koutmina reviews Baltika 8 Beer, also known as The Tsar of Beers
A Russia beer guide has joined the massing ranks of the United Nations of Beer! Valeria Koutmina lives in Montreal, but is fluent in many languages, including her native Russian, of course. Val will be contributing to the Quebec beer guide among others as well as the Russia page.

From Russia With Love: Valeria Koutmina, our lovely Russia Beer Delegate. NB: Val is on the LEFT.
Among the many enduring memories of James Bond in my youth, the alluring title From Russia With Love stands out.
It might be the accents, the long, slender limbs or maybe just the supreme intellect of the Russian Bond girls that did it for me... Ah, history.
But before this trip down memory lane becomes any more revealling or patronising, allow us to hand over the mic to Val and listen to her proposal speech.
Beer... where would we be without it?
It is said that the history of beer goes back to when the ancient Egyptians figured out how to make a brew from honey. We are still fermenting and brewing away to this day!
Everybody loves beer: it is the
perfect companion on a lonely night, the social catalyst
when you're
paining the
town red and the cure for that beastly headache at the end of a hard
work day
(or at the beginning of a hungover one).
So I raise my pint to beer and hope to find a slew of companions in the UNOB who will do the same.
Fancy yourself as a UNOB Beer Delegate for your country, province or state? Great! Come to our Beer Delegates page for details and an application form.
