I know it is fall when my voicemail clogs up with "Octoberfest sighting" messages from close friends.... Apparently my love of Sam Adams Octoberfest is so well known than my friends all call when bars in the area start to carry it.

I've even been known to get an email from the bartender at my favorite bar with the date the first keg is going to be tapped. This is also the only beer I will actively stock up on...

Why all the fuss you may ask? I'm not usually all that picky about my beer, using a "as long as I can't see through it, it can't be all bad" rule. But, I'm capitivated by the dark caramel color, the light fruity aroma, and the pretty malty taste.

Sam Adams lists the stats on this beer as 5.6 ABV, 165 calories, and made with Munich, Harrington, Moravian and Crystal malts.

But, the last cases of my favorite are running out, so make sure you get your hands on some before the "winter" brews come along...
