Shiner
Hefeweizen review

It's hot outside;
you've
tried drinking water, iced tea, lemonade, even (gasp!) Miller Light,
but
nothing seems to do the trick. You've got sun in your eyes, sweat on
your back,
and a bitter, nasty taste in your throat. What's a seasoned alcoholic
to do?
Come to Texas, toss some sliced lemon in a glass, pour yourself a Shiner Hefeweizen and stop your complaining right there.
Even as one of the few
non-seasonal beers being distributed by the Spoetzl Brewery down in
Shiner, Texas,
Shiner Hefeweizen stands out amongst the rest. Few other beers are
quite so
refreshing on a hot day and are just so damned pleasant to drink.

A non-pasteurized, Bavarian-style wheat beer brewed with orange and lemon peels as well as local Texas honey, this particular brand has a very crisp, almost sweet taste without ever becoming watered down in the process.
And if all that wasn't enough, "Flip", the Hefeweizen mascot, smiles happily at you as you tilt your bottle upside down to pour yourself a glass or two.
Will he help you to
become
smarter, cooler, and more sophisticated in the process? Absolutely.
On the downside, don't expect to find this beer offered at most bars and expect to find it on tap at even fewer.
Even brewed year-round, its still a 'specialty beer' and, as such, it will never be the cheapest thing on tap.
Still, if you're looking for that perfect summer beer to help you beat the Texas heat while you're drifting down the Comal or just whipping up some barbecue with friends, then invest a few bucks for a twelve pack of Shiner Hefeweizen.
Your mouth will thank you.
