I am SO impressed with McAuslan for putting out this brave beer. It's a REAL IPA, with the piney, super-dry hop taste that real IPA fans crave, and it's widely available alongside the company's other beers through major supermarket networks like IGA in Quebec.
The importance of this cannot be underestimated. Look at the crap that people drink, thinking it's IPA, like Alexander Keith's "IPA". What a travesty that people associate THAT with the words India Pale Ale!
The St Ambroise name is now associated with one of North America's best commercially available stouts, St Ambroise Stout, and now a really good IPA. I won't call it a great, but it's a huge step in that direction, with more front than a pole dancer and a knockout hop punch waiting at the swallow.
Truly, one of Montreal's best IPAs, if not one of the best in the whole of Canada.
