St Ambroise Pale ale: more bitter than Alanis Morissette's second album
![]() |
St Ambroise Pale Ale is a bright red, caramel sweet smelling beer. The initial bite is very bitter, quite fizzy and long-lasting.
It has a strong burned caramel aftertaste and is a TRUE bitter. It wouldn't feel too out of place in an English pub. All that's missing is a man feeding Walker's to a greyhound and footy on the telly in the corner.
There's just a hint of caramel here to keep you from committing suicide. Perhaps St Ambroise Pale ale is too fizzy for comfort, but it's one of the best Canadian reds I've tried so far.
