St. Arnold's Brown ale: darn close to unimpressive
From Saint Arnold Brewery in Houston, Texas comes a brown.
St Arnold's Brown ale is a bit heavy on the malt with the hops favor coming through only at the end with a citrus bite leading into an (almost) pleasant bitter aftertaste. Not the best balanced brown I have had by a long shot. Still yet it has its good points: the strong malt flavor is just the thing for those around who want a heavy sweet to the leading edge of a brew.
Yeah it's a brown, but hardly what I would recommend as an example of the type, too heavy on the malt with the hops coming to little to late. Overall, darn close to unimpressive.
