This is one of those beers that I see in the store all the time but never pick up for some reason, today was a little different though. Suffering from a mild holiday sunburn, a fruity and refreshing beer sounded pretty welcoming, so I grabbed a bottle. This is definitely one of those beers I could drink all day if I was on the beach.
The aroma is deep and fruity with a lot of citrus aroma with a strong touch of tangerine, of course. There is a slight hop bitterness and aroma present, but not overwhelming.
A very mild malt undertone is present as the beer is consumed and as the beer warms in the glass. The appearance is a cloudy pale orange or rusty color with a light foamy head that vanishes quickly, and leaves no traces of its presence on the glass while beer is consumed.
Tangerine's flavor is strong with citrus flavors, orange, tangerine and other sweet fruit tastes which stays on the palate for 5-7 seconds. There is negligible bitterness, malt or hop tastes which make this a very smooth and drinkable beer. The beer has a very mild body with a lot of character due to the added flavor of tangerine.
The mouthfeel is smooth in texture which coats the palate with fruit. Very refreshing and lightly carbonation. The beer goes down easy and lightly coats the back of the throat. The perfect beer for a warm summer day.
Overall, this is a great beer. The strong flavors and drinkability are very appealing and refreshing. Only downfall is the lack of foam or lacing on the glass, gives it a little personality.
