Just off of 114 Street and Jasper Avenue in downtown Edmonton. Directly adjacent to St. Joseph's Basilica (The place where Wayne Gretzky and Janet Jones got married.)
The Bartender is a gem, the pints are moderately priced, and there is wood paneling on the wall. What else could a fine young gentleman want? I am referred to as Billy Zane in this establishment. Not sure if that is an insult or compliment. I'm not bald or balding, so I have no idea. I guess I do have thick eyebrows...
Anyways, back to the wood paneled beauty that is Teddy's. There is a host of run down regulars who you can see playing VLTs (Video Lottery Terminals, aka slot machines) and gambling away the pathetic remnants of their saggy balled lives. One time in the winter, an 80 year old regular just stopped showing up. We assume he froze to death.
There is a half decent restaurant on the main floor that serves "Edmonton's Best Corned Beef." They aren't lying. It is amazing.
To top it all off, a few years ago a homeless lady casually had a baby in the women's bathroom and left it as a gift for us all. Regardless of gender, that baby's name was Teddy in my mind.
God Bless.
